Add the 12 point values, then apply the gates. Do not average away a failed gate.
| Score | Editorial band | Meaning | Recommended next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0–12 | Build the foundations | Too much of the process or evidence is unknown | Map one workflow, appoint an owner and establish permissions |
| 13–23 | Define a bounded pilot | Some foundations exist, but key dependencies remain | Close the lowest-evidence questions before buying implementation |
| 24–30 | Prepare a controlled trial | Enough structure may exist for an evidence-producing pilot | Confirm gates and test unfamiliar work with approved reference outputs |
| 31–36 | Prepare acceptance review | Strong readiness evidence; performance is still unproven | Agree the acceptance schedule and run the controlled trial |
Gate override: unresolved Q5, Q7 or Q8 overrides every band. Q12 is an additional block on production release. Passing a quiz does not override applicable technical, data or contractual obligations.
