How should VRF projects be handled?

Make VRF a distinct classification in the quote register. EPA's table treats it separately from ordinary residential/light-commercial systems and attaches component and permit conditions to the transition routes. EPA restrictions

For each affected project:

1. Confirm the equipment category and proposed refrigerant.
2. Request the manufacturer's component and system documentation.
3. Confirm component manufacture/import dates where the route depends on them.
4. If relying on a permit exception, obtain the actual approved permit and the evidence that its approval covers the relevant HFC use.
5. Have the accountable reviewer reconcile federal restrictions, local installation permission and the planned date.
6. Record any resulting selection, price, lead-time or scope change.

A permit's existence is not enough; its date and content matter. Keep any proposed substitution separate from the original design and seek approval before changing the priced scope.
